A tour to Armoury Museum and the Armoury in Moscow
The Kremlin Armory Museum
The Kremlin Armory Museum is a misleading name. It’s not an exhibition of weapons, although there are elaborately decorated weapons on display there, but indeed it’s the treasury of the Russian Tsars. The Armory is the Russian counterpart of the Tower of London; it’s the place where you will see the Russian crown jewels, coronation dresses, carriages, lavish ambassadorial gifts of the 15th-19th centuries, famous Faberge eggs, and other equally fascinating (and expensive) artefacts.
Usually the tour of the Armoury is included into the Kremlin walking tour
Duration: 1.5-2 hours
Walking distance: usual as any museum tour but we will have to climb at least three flights of stairs (no elevators).
Special concerns: The Kremlin Armoury is located in the 19th century building, it is, essentially part of the Grand Royal Palace, so it features grand staircases, but, unfortunately, no escalators of lifts.
The Armory operates in sessions that start at 10:00, 12:00, 14:30, and 16:30. Tickets can be booked only for a specific date and time slot. Changes are not accepted, and even for early cancellations no reimbursement is offered.
The Kremlin and Armory have limited capacity, so during peak season early booking (one month ahead) is recommended.<
The price of this tour will depend on the number of guests in the group, children or adults.
The Armory tour is best coupled with the Kremlin Tour, Diamond Fund visit, Red Square Walking Tour** or Central Moscow Walking Tour. It can also be including into the Sightseeing Tour of Moscow Program
